• Throat Depth: This is the distance from the center of the ram to the frame. A larger throat depth allows you to work on larger or awkwardly shaped pieces. Measure the typical size of the components you'll be working with to determine the minimum required throat depth.
• Ram Travel: This refers to the maximum distance the ram can move. Ensure the ram travel is adequate for the depth of the operations you intend to perform, such as pressing in a deep bushing or punching through thick material.
