For ultimate durability and archival quality, consider solid wood panels or composite boards. These are ideal for oil painting, heavy impasto techniques, or when you need a surface that will withstand the test of time without significant expansion or contraction.

Weight and Durability Considerations

The weight and thickness of your chosen surface are important. Thicker canvases and boards are generally more durable and less likely to bend or sag, especially for larger pieces.
