How to Choose the Best Atari Lynx Games, Consoles & Accessories
Condition of the Console
When purchasing an Atari Lynx, the condition of the handheld is paramount. Look for consoles that have been tested and are in good working order. Pay attention to the screen for dead pixels or burn-in, and check that all buttons are responsive. Batteries are also a common point of failure; ensure battery contacts are clean and free of corrosion.
Availability of Accessories
Beyond the console itself, consider the availability of essential accessories. This includes power adapters, as the original battery packs can degrade over time and are often not included. Screen protectors can help preserve the display, and carrying cases are useful for protecting the unit during transport. Ensure any advertised accessories are compatible with the specific Lynx model you are considering.
Game Selection and Condition
The most crucial element for enjoyment is the game library. Research the available titles and ensure they appeal to your gaming preferences. When buying games, check their condition, especially the cartridges themselves and the labels. Some games may require specific memory or battery backups to save progress, so verify these are functional if they are important to you.
