Ceiling fan blades come in various materials, including wood, metal, and plastic. Wood or composite blades often offer a more traditional aesthetic, while metal blades can provide a modern look. The blade pitch (the angle of the blade) also affects airflow; a steeper pitch generally moves more air. Consider the number of blades as well; while four or five blades are common, designs with fewer or more can impact both aesthetics and performance.

Many modern fans come with integrated LED lights, offering both illumination and air circulation in one fixture. Look for dimmable options and adjustable color temperatures for added versatility. Remote controls or smart home compatibility (Wi-Fi or Bluetooth) provide convenient operation. Reversible motor functions allow you to switch the fan's direction seasonally – clockwise in winter to circulate warm air, and counter-clockwise in summer for cooling.
