While many DIY-savvy individuals can install them, some may prefer professional plumbing assistance, especially if replacing an old unit or if the plumbing configuration is complex. Regular maintenance involves running cold water during and after grinding, and occasionally grinding citrus peels or ice cubes to help keep the grinding chamber clean and the blades sharp.
