Lab wrist action shakers are essential for tasks requiring gentle, consistent agitation of samples. Selecting the appropriate shaker ensures optimal mixing without damaging sensitive materials, leading to accurate and reproducible experimental results. Understanding key features will help you find a model that meets your specific laboratory needs.
Powerful vortex mixing：our mini vortex mixer operates at a fixed speed of 5600 rpm, to quickly create a powerful vortex and thoroughly mix paints in 10-15 seconds, even though the paints have settled and separated over time. A huge relief for your wrist
More stable to use: the patented three-leg appearance design, when combined with heavy weight (2.09 lb), makes the vortex shaker stay in place on your desk while mixing
Not just a lab mixer: the Four E's Scientific lab vortex shaker is not only made for shaking up test tubes and centrifuge tubes, it also works well as a paint mixer for miniature paints, nail polishes, small bottles of liquids
Simple touch function operation: to start shaking, simply press the bottle into the soft silicone top of the acrylic paint shaker, as to stop shaking, just lift the bottle. When vibrating, the cool circle indicator lights up

How to Choose the Best Lab Wrist Action Shakers
Capacity and Speed
When choosing a wrist action shaker, consider the volume and number of samples you typically process. Shakers come with varying platform sizes and weight capacities, so ensure the model can accommodate your standard glassware, such as flasks or beakers. The speed range is also crucial; higher speeds are suitable for rapid mixing, while lower speeds are better for delicate substances or longer mixing times. Look for adjustable speed controls to achieve the precise agitation level required for your experiments.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a wrist action shaker?
A wrist action shaker is a laboratory instrument designed to agitate samples in a circular or orbital motion, mimicking the natural movement of a wrist. This type of motion is ideal for tasks that require gentle yet thorough mixing of liquids or suspensions without excessive turbulence.
What are the common applications for wrist action shakers?
These shakers are commonly used in various laboratory settings for applications such as cell culture, staining, hybridization, and general sample mixing. They are particularly useful for tasks that require consistent, low-shear agitation over extended periods.
How do I clean and maintain a wrist action shaker?
Regular cleaning is important to maintain optimal performance and prevent contamination. Wipe down the platform and exterior surfaces with a mild detergent and water. Ensure the shaker is unplugged before cleaning and allow it to dry completely before use.
What is the difference between orbital and wrist action shakers?
While both offer continuous agitation, wrist action shakers typically provide a more vigorous, elliptical motion that mimics the action of a wrist. Orbital shakers generally produce a smoother, more uniform circular motion, which can be preferable for applications like cell cultures where shear force needs to be minimized.
